The driver in a fatal hit and run in Paradise will serve no prison time for his crime.
Instead, Butte County Superior Court Judge Steven Howell sentenced 57 year old Timothy McCollum today to probation, and 60 days in jail.
McCollum struck and killed 73 year old Myron Bolstead as he crossed Clark Road the night of February 14th ... on his way home from choir practice at a nearby church.
McCollum was arrested eight days later, after police were tipped off about his damaged car.
District Attorney Mike Ramsey told Action News Now Friday afternoon that, "justice was not served today."
In delivering the sentence, Judge Howell told the courtroom that he took into consideration McCollum's health issues, his age, and his lack of a prior criminal record.###
