Maiduguri, Nigeria - At least 20 people were killed after a bomb exploded at a busy market in a northeastern Nigerian town, on Tuesday. The blast damaged several buildings and vehicles. no one immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing, but it's the latest suspected attack by Islamist militants. In recent months, the Islamist militant group Boko Haram has been behind a series of bombings and raids, mostly in northeast nigeria, including the abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls, in April. The military said on Tuesday it had arrested a number of suspected Boko Haram collaborators, including a business man it said was involved in the girls' kidnapping and helped the militant group plan several attacks. Boko Haram says it wants to establish an Islamist state in Nigeria. The insurgency has killed thousands since 2009.
