Another pretty nice day around the North State today. It'll warm up a bit tomorrow, but cool right back down Friday. Overall, pretty nice weather for August!
The weather disturbance that moved through the North State yesterday moved out today, and temperatures warmed up... but not too much. We'll continue to warm tomorrow, but highs will only get to about average for August. Another disturbance will move in late Thursday, and knock our temperatures right back down on Friday and Saturday!
This disturbance is heading into the San Joaquin Valley and not the Sacramento Valley. So, it should spark a few thunderstorms in the mountains and possibly the San Joaquin Valley... but it should be too far south to spark any activity in the Sacramento Valley. It will bring clouds by Thursday afternoon and Friday everywhere... these clouds will clear by Friday night.
Temperatures will warm back to near average by Sunday and stay there as we go into next week. Hazy skies will continue as long as the Trinity County fires and Rocky Fire continue to burn, although Valley air quality is generally in the good to moderate range. Look for unhealthy air quality in Trinity County, and in western Colusa County near the Rocky Fire. The air quality will improve when the fires are put out.
