We enjoyed a nice cooldown today! Look for this to continue through the weekend, before the summer heat returns next week.
A weather disturbance clipped northern California today, breaking high pressure down and kicking up a Delta Breeze, both which cooled us down nicely. High pressure isn't in any hurry to return, so our temperatures will remain nice (for July) through the weekend! The upper level winds around this disturbance pushed the moisture associated with former Hurricane Dolores (that had been sparking numerous thunderstorms in the mountains) to our east, and the mountains have dried out.
High pressure will return next week with force, however. Look for Valley highs to return to the triple digits. But until then... comfortable summer weather is here through the weekend!
