A new set of advisory evacuations have been issued for homes near the Day Fire in Modoc County that has now burned 7000 acres.
The new evacuation advisory notifications are for homes along Widow Valley Road and into the Lookout Ranchettes in the community of Day.
The evacuation advisories are in addition to mandatory advisories already in place from Sneider Ranch Road to the north end of Day Road.
Officials say the fire is challenging crews because it is in mixed brush with heavy timber. As of 8:45 a.m. Friday the fire is only 5 percent contained.
