Today, New Clairvaux held their biggest celebration of the year. Hundreds of people came from all over to celebrate the new harvest with the Blessing of the Grapes.

The tradition dates back nearly 1,400 years. The Monks of the Abbey at New Clairvaux carry on the tradition with this celebration.

In addition to giving thanks, both the vines and the people of the vineyard are blessed to ensure a robust harvest and winemaking season.

The winery hosted tours, food and flowers from local growers and of course winetasting.

To add to their collection of award winning wines, New Clairvaux celebrated the release of their 91 point 2012 St. James Syrah. The new bottle received the gold medal award at the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
