Forecasters are predicting warm weather and sunny skies this weekend and national parks are giving people an incentive to get out of the house.

National parks are celebrating President's Day weekend by offering free entry to parks.

Lassen Volcanic National Park will waive entrance fees from Saturday through Monday in honor of the holiday. At Lassen, ranger-led snowshoe walks are offered on Saturday and Sunday for visitors eight and older.

North State residents looking for something a bit warmer can head out to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area and its lake, lake waterfalls and more than 70 miles of hiking trails.
