A national magazine says any enthusiastic angler needs to have Redding on their short list for retirement destinations.

"Where to Retire" is a national magazine geared toward helping people with retirement relocation decisions. Redding is one of eight selections profiled in a feature titled "8 Fishing Cities: Great Lures Across the U.S." in the July/August issue, available nationwide on June 17, 2014.

Magazine editor Annette Fuller said these eight cities, including Redding, "appeal to retirees who dream of spending their days out on the water. "Our eight locales offer a full range of fishing, from fly, ice, freshwater and saltwater. Typically, cities with good fishing have other appealing outdoor adventures -- hiking and biking trails, national parks, and festivals, to name a few -- all set against the natural beauty of the area."

"Where to Retire" magazine launched in 1992 and has a national circulation of 200,000. The magazine is sold on various newsstands and at Barnes & Noble bookstores through the country.
