Today was National 2-1-1 day to promote the number as an easy way to find help.

The 2-1-1 helpline provides a link to free and low-cost community resources. It is staffed 24/7 to help assess your needs and help connect you to the right services.

In Butte County the database contains more than 750 programs providing services from more than 400 agencies. Services like emergency food, shelter, parenting classes, recreational programs, support groups, drug treatment, tax assistance, in-home help, after school programs, local transit, counseling and more ...

It's as simply as dialing 2-1-1 on y our phone, or visiting or texting your zip code to 898211.

Other Northstate counties offer the service as well. Check with your local county administrative office or try 2-1-1 to find out more.###
