NASA releases high-resolution photos of Pluto

Dec 7, 2015 9:03 PM by NBC News

NASA has released the first and best images of Pluto, thanks to the new Horizons Space Craft.

The images allow us to see a super-high resolution window into the planet's geology. The resolution is so high that features as small as half a city block can be seen.

For example, this is a shot where great blocks of Pluto's water ice crust seem to be jammed together.

NASA says more images of Pluto's topography will be released in the near future.
