There are more than a dozen wildfires burning in Northern California right now, and this image from NASA shows how they look from space.

From its orbit around the Earth, the NASA Suomi NPP satellite captured a night-time image of Lake Jerusalem Fire around 1:10 a.m. Monday.

The large area of city lights to the south of the fire are from San Francisco and Sacramento’s lights can be seen to the southeast.

As of Wednesday morning the Jerusalem Fire had spread to 26 square miles and was just 6 percent contained.

More than 1,100 firefighters are battling the blaze, which is threatening 50 structures. No homes have been destroyed, and no injuries have been reported.
