VALLEJO, Calif. (AP) - A 20-year-old Napa County man remains jailed after he was arrested for allegedly plowing his pickup truck into an ex-girlfriend on a Vallejo street and then running over her in the parking lot where she landed.

Police Lt. Kevin Bartlett tells the Vallejo Times-Herald that a second woman who walking with the intended target also was struck by the truck and injured during the Saturday afternoon attack.

Bartlett says the driver, identified as 20-year-old Jon-Luc Laporte of American Canyon, initially fled, but returned to the scene and then led officers on a high-speed chase. The officers forced LaPorte to stop and arrested him.

Bartlett says LaPorte was booked into the Solano County jail on two counts of attempted murder. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Tuesday.
