Music Festival Saturday to raise money for Orland PD K9 Officer

The second annual Laws & Paws Music Festival is scheduled for Saturday, August 23rd at the Glenn County Fairgrounds in Orland.

It's a benefit to pay for costs associated with the Orland Police Department's K9 Officer, "Ruger". Costs like food and vet bills, and ongoing training.

Police Officer Grant Carmon says a K9 officer is critical to officer safety, because the dogs can be sent in first to situations that could prove dangerous, even deadly for regular officers.

There will be three live bands at the music festival, which runs from 3:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday. The bands are Whitewater, Northern Heat and the Kelly McDonald Band. There will also be K9 demonstrations, and food and drink vendors.

There's no need to buy a ticket, rather donations will be accepted at the gate.

For more information call the Orland Police Department at (530) 865-1616.
