Multi-vehicle crash slows traffic on Highway 70 near East Gridley Road

A Chico woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence for her role in a four vehicle crash in south Oroville Monday.

Several people were injured in the crash, just north of East Gridley Road. Investigators say Marie Jauregui, of Chico was driving south erratically, and veered into oncoming traffic, hitting a Ford and causing a chain reaction.

Robert Floyd, who was driving one of the vehicles involved, suffered major injuries. Two of his passengers were also treated for injuries. All three have been released from the hospital.

Jauregui suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. She was booked into the Butte County Jail.

A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 70 near East Gridley Road has north and southbound traffic down to one lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said a big rig and at least three other vehicles crashed in a southbound lane of Highway 70 around 4:45 p.m. Initial reports are that the crash was head-on.

According to the CHP Traffic Information Page, one of the drivers involved was wrecklessly weaving in and out of traffic moments before the crash was reported.

At least four people have suffered injuries, and Enloe Flight care has been called to the scene. Action News Now has a crew enroute and we will bring you more information as it becomes available.
