It was another comfortable day in the Valley, with scattered afternoon showers in the mountains. Look for more of the same for the rest of the week before it starts to heat up this weekend.
The dip in the jet stream (a trough of low pressure) remains over California, which is helping in keeping us cool, and is sparking afternoon showers in the mountains. This pattern won't change at all for the next few days, meaning we can expect more of the same through Friday... A bit of beneficial rain in the mountains, with comfortable temperatures in the Valley.
By the weekend, high pressure will start to rebuild over California. That will finally dry the mountains out, and begin to warm everyone up... Although still no 90's in sight for us in the Valley. The ridge may weaken a bit next week, leading to yet another slight cooldown!
Overall, the very nice May weather will continue!
