Motorcyclist Identified as 18-year-old Orland Man

The motorcyclist who was ejected from his motorcycle and was air-lifted to Enloe Medical Center on Thursday morning has been identified as Trent M. Ellgood from Orland.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Ellgood, 18 years old from Orland was driving his Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Hamilton Nord Cana Highway, just north of Bell Road. Ellgood struck the back of the UPS truck.

The driver of the UPS truck told CHP he saw a pickup partially blocking the southbound lane and was passing when the motorcyclist struck him from behind.

Enloe Medical Center didn’t have a status condition on Ellgood as of Friday afternoon.

Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the collision, according to CHP.
