Highway 99 traffic was slowed and a motorcyclist was hospitalized Friday after a crash on Highway 99 at Neal Road.

The motorcycle crashed into the back of big rig around 8:40 a.m. as it was traveling southbound on Highway 99, just south of Chico.

California Highway Patrol Officers say foggy conditions factored into the crash. The big rig slowed down and the motorcyclist failed to see the truck applying its brakes and ran into the back of it.

The motorcyclist suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Enloe Medical Center.

Southbound traffic was backed up for about 30 minutes, but the roadway was cleared and traffic was moving again by 9:20 a.m.
