Motorcyclists from all over the North State are expected to take part in the annual “Motor-Icicle Run” in Orland Saturday. The event gets underway at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast open to everyone for just $6.00. Registration at the Orland Fire Department starts at 9 a.m. and kickstands to go up at 11:00 AM. The ride will end back at the Fire Department at approximately 2:00 in the afternoon with a chili feed.

Over the years motorcyclists have braved the mid winter elements and raised over $55,000.00 for various charities. Last year the temperature was just 26 degrees! The Motor-Icicle run is a pledge ride with a mission. All funds raised will go to construct a memorial to Orland’s Patriotic Heroes ,who gave their lives in military service to our nation since Orland incorporated in 1909.

“Orland Pride” has contracted with a local sculptor, Ulises Meza, who has designed a beautiful and stirring and patriotic memorial to honor our heroes,” said former Orland Police Chief and Ride Coordinator Bob Pasero.

Entry fees have been held to $20.00 for a solo rider with an additional $5.00 per passenger. Riders are encouraged to solicit pledges from their friends and family members. All pledges go directly to the memorial project.

Anyone interested in the ride is encouraged to contact Pasero toll free at 1(888)814-2354 or by e-mail at
