Police say a Willows woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI Wednesday morning after she crashed into a fire hydrant with her six year old daughter inside the car.

According to a news release from the Willows Police Department, Cherie Spencer, 32, was arrested for felony DUI with injury to others and child endangerment. Spencer also had a no bail warrant out of Sacramento County stemming from a previous DUI incident.

Police say Spencer crashed into a fire hydrant, causing it to become dislodged and spill into the intersection of Humboldt Avenue and W. Wood Street a little after 8 a.m.

Spencer's six year old daughter suffered minor injuries in the crash, but did not require further treatment at a hospital. Spencer was taken to Glenn County Medical Center for evaluation and then booked into the county jail where she is being held without bail.
