A few active thunderstorms are expected to pop up across Northern California Friday afternoon, some of which could generate lightning strikes, heavy rain and gusty winds.
The National Weather Service in Sacramento is reporting that activity in the North State had increased around 2:30 p.m.
Showers and thunderstorms are currently drifting west, across the Sierra Nevada and Cascades. Some storms are possible in the valley later this afternoon.
