A crash hazard has prompted Bombardier Recreational Products to recall more than 12,500 youth ATV's.

The recall involves Can-Am Mini Ds ATV's from model year 2008 through 2015. These are youth models sold in the colors black and yellow.

The vehicles fail to meet performance requirements of the federal ATV standard for maximum unrestricted speed and parking brakes.

No injuries have been reported.

Can-Am dealers nationwide sold the youth ATVs from July 2007 through January of this year.

Consumers should stop using them immediately and contact a Bombardier Recreational Products dealer to schedule a free repair.
