Today started out wet and windy... and finished with a few strong thunderstorms in the north end of the Valley! We shouldn't see any thunderstorms tomorrow, but we'll definitely see more rain!
A strong storm powered through the North State today, with strong winds and heavy rain this morning. Winds gusted 35 to 40 mph in the Valley early, then slowly subsided through the day. A line of strong thunderstorms developed in Shasta and Tehama counties this afternoon, and briefly showed signs of rotation. That prompted tornado warnings to be issued, although tornadoes did not form. This storm has moved east, and most of the night looks partly cloudy tonight.
A new storm will move in Thursday afternoon and evening. It shouldn't have as much wind or rain with it, but it should still soak us nicely by tomorrow night. We may see a morning shower, but the brunt of the storm will arrive later in the day.
Friday looks like a break in the wet weather, although the clouds will stick around. More rain is coming both Saturday and Sunday, as the pattern remains very active! Next week will start wet as well, with a couple of big storms coming our way yet again. The wet weather will continue later next week as well!
