More evacuations ordered as Fork Complex Fire activity increases

Fire officials say an increase in fire behavior has prompted new mandatory evacuations near the Fork Complex Fire.

An advisory evacuation for the area of Wildwood has been upgraded to mandatory, while an evacuation advisory has been issued for the sub-division known as Rowdey Bear.

There has also been a change in road closures, the closure on State Route 32 will be moved to the junction of Highway 36. A full list of evacuations and road closures can be found here.

As of Friday morning the Fork Complex Fire was approximately 30,000 acres and 32 percent contained. The fires were started by lightning strikes on July 30.

Meanwhile, the River Complex near Denny has also grown to 33,000 acres and is just 18 percent contained.

The South Complex in the Hyampom area has burned almost 17,000 acres and is 20 percent contained.
