More arrests made in effort to clean up Anderson Heights

Anderson Police made three arrests yesterday as they continue working with Anderson Heights residents in an effort to reduce crime in the area.

Police arrested Cavan Murphy, 39, of Cottonwood after conducting a traffic stop on Ponderosa Way. Murphy was found to have an outstanding warrant, and was in possession of methamphetamine. He was booked into Shasta County Jail on his warrant, and for new charges of possessing and transporting methamphetamine.

Officers also arrested 31-year-old Andres Quintana Martinez for public urination on the north end of Ponderosa near the Anderson Creek foot bridge.

While officers were making the arrest of Martinez they contacted Nolan Lee Taylor near the foot bridge at Ponderosa Way. Officers discovered Taylor was carrying a concealed dagger underneath a sweatshirt. Officers also found that Taylor had two warrants for his arrest.

Taylor and Martinez were booked into the Shasta County Jail.
