A mother and her two daughters were among four people killed in a wrong-way crash Saturday night in Yolo County. Officials believe the driver, who was also killed, was under the influence of alcohol.
The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. Saturday when Francisco Salazar Garcia, of Antioch, crashed into a car traveling the opposite direction on Interstate 505 near the town of Madison in Yolo County, according to KCRA 3.
The vehicle Garcia collided with was carrying a family of four, Sofia Ramirez and her two daughters, 17-year-old Alyssa Santiago and 15-year-old Brenda Santiago were killed. Ramirez's husband was also in the vehicle, he was treated for injuries at an area hospital and has since been released.
CHP officials say the crash may have been alcohol related, Garcia reportedly narrowly missed colliding with a CHP officer on the interstate moments before the crash happened.
