NORDEN, Calif. (AP) - Rescue crews are searching for a ski instructor who went missing after skiing at a Northern California ski resort.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office says 43 people on skiers, snowmobiles and a snowcat resumed their search Saturday for 23-year-old Carson May at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort near Norden.

The office says May was last seen skiing while off duty at the ski resort on Thursday afternoon. It says May was supposed to get a ride home but didn't show up.

Friends reported him missing Friday morning after he didn't make it home and his belonging were discovered in his locker at the ski resort.

Authorities say it's raining heavily and that a helicopter won't be able to scour the area until the skies clear.
