Missing Chico man spotted in Mendocino National Forest

Rescue crews have located a Chico man who went missing in the Mendocino National Forest while on a camping trip.

Alex Canto, 44, of Chico was spotted Thursday by a California Highway Patrol Helicopter in a remote area west of Elk Creek. Crews have not been able to reach his exact location, but say he is alive and talking.

Search and Rescue crews have been looking for Canto all day.

At this time it is unknown how long it will take crews to reach Canto.
