Officials say more than 23,000 marijuana plants, 4,300 pounds of processed marijuana and 16 firearms were seized as part of a weeklong law enforcement operation targeting marijuana grows in Humboldt County.
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office served seven search warrants on seven parcels of property and found at least 40 green houses that contained marijuana valued around $26.5 million.
The operation began Monday and continued through Thursday. Humboldt County sheriff's spokesman Wayne Hanson says 23,211 marijuana plants, 4,394 pounds of processed marijuana, 15 pounds of marijuana hash in brick form, 16 firearms, and 50,000 rounds of ammunition were seized or eradicated, but no suspects were located at any of the grow sites.
Deputies documented illegal dumping of garbage, unpermitted grading of land, and water diversion on all seven parcels and they are working with the California Department of Fish and Wild Life Services to identify people involved.
All of these cases are still under investigation by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office.
