The Silicon Valley based company will host a hiring fair at Chico State on September 28 to fill 90 positions for their new contact center and will hire an additional 140 employees in November.
The company’s new contact center will go live in early November. According to the company’s press release, Milestone Technologies currently has 15 employees in Chico at their current contact center. Milestone is opening the new contact center to focus on servicing one client, the name of which the company was not willing to disclose today.
According to the company’s website, Milestone Technologies provides solutions to the IT (information Technology) needs of large global corporations such as eBay, Facebook, Google and others. The company’s site also claims to help over 200 companies in 18 countries to create and operate their IT infrastructure. The company, which was first founded in Fremont, Calif., in 1997, currently has more than 1000 employees. Since 2006 it has grown annually at a consistent 28 percent, according to their website. Milestone Technologies was founded by president and CEO Prem Chand who was born and raised in Biggs.
A news conference is being held to officially announce the launching of Milestone’s new contact center and provide more details regarding the job fair. The conference will be held tomorrow, September 20, at the Old Municipal Building on 441 Main Street in Chico at 11 a.m.
Chand will be in attendance along with Mayor Scott Greundl, Ben Juliano, Dean of the College of Engineering at Chico State, and Anne Rafferty, Director of Contract Education Training and Development at Butte College.
