A very nice start to the work week, as temperatures are projected to be at or just below average for this time of year. Valley temperatures are starting out in the high 50's to mid 60's, and mountain areas have dipped into the high 30's to low 50's. Afternoon high temperatures are only projected to climb into the low to mid 90's for the valley, and into the 81 to 89 degree range. Sunny skies will be dominating the region today, and the next several days. Winds will be out of the South up to around 10mph. Humidity values will be between 10 to 20 percent this afternoon.
Increasingly HOT temperatures are ahead through the end of the week. The valley is projected to climb back into the mid 90's to low triple digits by Tuesday, with temperatures climbing into the 107 to 112 degree range by Friday. There will be a chance of mountain thunderstorms on the way for Thursday night through the weekend. There will not be an abundance for moisture with that instability, and that will lead to an increased concern for lightning sparked fires. Fire danger will be high across the entire region heading into the end of the week. If you have anything you need to do outside, I hope you get it done today. I hope everyone stays safe in the heat ahead, and has a marvelous Monday!
