It was a foggy start to our day in parts of the North State, while other areas enjoyed sunshine all day long. The fog was especially thick on the east side of the Sacramento Valley, from Tehama County southward to the San Joaquin Valley. We should see a bit more of a north breeze tonight in the Valley, which should help prevent as much fog from forming. There still will be fog in the Valley, but mostly south of Butte County tonight & tomorrow morning.
High pressure will remain strong over California through the weekend, although a weak storm will try to bust through high pressure on Thursday. We'll see clouds, but no rain. The sun will return this weekend as high pressure really gets strong... With the help of a light north breeze, look for Valley highs in the 70's! But the ridge breaks down next week.
A surge of subtropical moisture will arrive Tuesday of next week, finally giving us a chance of rain again. Models have been inconsistent with the timing, but it looks like our best chance will be on Wednesday. They've also been suggesting stormy weather the following weekend.
