Redding Police Department Press Release:

On August 9, 2013 at 1:00 am, officers were dispatched to the area of Wal-Mart (1515 Dana Drive) and the Mt. Shasta Mall (900 Dana Drive) in response to a call for service. The reporting party, a security guard at Mt. Shasta Mall, said he saw a male subject riding a bicycle towards Wal-Mart. He recognized the subject as a person he knew to have two outstanding felony arrest warrants.

Officer Jason Rhoads and Officer Thomas Landreth contacted two subjects in the Wal-Mart parking lot. One of the subjects matched the description of the warrant suspect. While they were trying to determine if he was the suspect with the warrant, Officer Rhoads saw a revolver in the front of the suspect's waistband. The officers took the suspect to the ground, at which time they recovered a loaded .357 magnum revolver. The suspect was identified as Dallas Rhett Allison, age 25, of Whitmore.

His associate was found to be on AB 109 supervised release. The associate, William David Eddy, age 44, of Redding, had a warrant for his arrest. During the arrest process, he was found to have 6 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on his person.

William Eddy was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of sales, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the arrest warrant.

Both suspects were booked at the Shasta County Jail. Neither suspect was the person who was originally called in by Mt. Shasta Mall security.
