The woman charged with shooting and killing four people during a February tribal meeting in Alturas re-entered a not guilty plea during an arraignment hearing Wednesday.
Cherie Lash Rhoades pleaded not guilty to four counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Prosecutors say Rhoades opened fire during an eviction hearing at the Cedarville Rancheria Tribal Office in Alturas on February 20.
Rhoades was arrested outside the office moments after the shooting, but four people were already dead, including Rhoades' niece and two other tribal members.
A Modoc County Judge determined there was enough evidence to try Rhoades after a preliminary hearing was held July 9.
Rhoades' trial is set to begin December 10.
