Marysville Police searching for 'armed and dangerous' subject

Marysville Police are searching for an armed man who made threats to kill specific individuals living in the same unincorporated area Monday afternoon.

A 911 caller reported that 44-year-old Anthony Charles Nickel was seen in possession of a .45 caliber handgun and made threats to kill individuals living in the area commonly referred to as “Thorntree” or “The Jungle” in Marysville. The 911 caller added that after speaking with Nickel, he had heard a single gunshot fired.

Yuba-Sutter Sheriff’s K9 unit teamed up with Maryville Police officers to locate the suspect but were unsuccessful. All subjects who had threats made against them by Nickel were notified and no gunshot victims were located or identified in any way.

Police said Nickel is a transient and is known to frequent Yuba and Sutter Counties. Nickel is described as 5-feet-6-inches tall, 175 pounds and has no hair. Nickel was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and prescription glasses.

Nickel is wanted for being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, theft of a firearm and has an active parole hold against him.

Marysville police said that anyone knows where to find Nickel, call 911 immediately. He is considered armed and dangerous.
