Officers detained a suspect Tuesday evening, that police considered armed and dangerous, after several days of searching, the department said.

Marysville Police Department located 44-year-old Anthony Nickel at the Town House Motel on the 300 block of 9th Street in Marysville. Nickel was arrested without incident.

The Marysville Police Department had previously received a tip that Nickel was staying in a room at the motel. A parole agent assisted the Marysville Police Department in the investigation.

During the investigation, officers learned that Nickel had possibly buried his handgun in the Thorntree area of Marysville where officers recovered the handgun.

Nickel was booked into the Yuba County Jail on charges of negligent discharge of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and violation of parole.
