Marijuana operation found at vacant, foreclosed home

Two men were arrested early Thursday morning after Sheriff's deputies found them inside a foreclosed home with approximately 250 pounds of marijuana.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office received a call from outside a foreclosed home on LaPorte Road in Bangor. Deputies found 49-year-old Reymundo Garcia of Yuba City and 51 year old Robert Mathison of Cloverdale asleep in a barn on the property.

According to the sheriff's office the property had been converted into a marijuana drying and processing facility.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Unit responded and recovered approximately 250 pounds of drying marijuana. Garcia and Mathison were arrested for Possession of Marijuana for Sales and Trespassing in a Structure. Garcia was also arrested Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia.

They were booked into the Butte County Jail.
