Man Wounded in Gang-Related Shooting in Downtown Chico

A shooting at Near LaSalle's Bar at Third Street and Broadway in Downtown Chico is believed to be gang-related, possibly tied to another drive-by shooting on Klondike Court.
Chico Police say last night just before 11:00, a shot was fired at The University Court Apartments at W. 1st Ave. and Klondike Court from a red Toyota toward a group of people in the parking lot. No one was hit, but a shell casing was found at the scene. It was believed to be gang-related.
About an hour later, witnesses say two hispanic men yelled a gang-related slur at the victim then opened fire, hitting a man in the stomach near Thrid and Broadway. It's not clearn if he was waiting in line for LaSalle's, but the victim left the scene on foot.
He was spotted by an investigator at W. 2nd St. and Broadway and was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery for a non life-threatening injury.
