LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man who stabbed three sleeping homeless people in Southern California will be sent to a mental hospital.
City News Service says Courtney Anthony Robinson was ordered committed on Friday after a jury ruled he wasn't sane during the July 2012 attacks.
He was found guilty on Tuesday of attempted murder.
Authorities say Robinson acknowledged to police that he intended to kill two men and a woman when he attacked them in downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood and Santa Monica.
Prosecutors say Robinson left typed "death warrants" at the scenes.
Robinson's attorney, Thomas Summers, told jurors that his client believed he was acting on the orders of God.
