Colusa County District Attorney Matthew Beauchamp said that an arrest warrant has been issued for Joseph Paulo in connection with the death of Concepcion Johnson, but he is not suspected of murder.

Paulo, 45, of Live Oak, has been a person of interest since it was discovered that he and Johnson had left Rocco’s Bar and Grill together.

Johnson was scheduled to work Monday, November 11, 2013 but didn’t show up for work that day or the next. There was no answer at Johnson’s home when the postmaster called to check on her, according to the Colusa Police Department’s press release.

Johnson was found three days after she had been reported missing. A sheriff’s dive team located her body in a drainage ditch off Lurline Road.

Paulo faces charges of fleeing the scene, driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.

If convicted Paulo faces up to 11 years in prison.
