A fight broke out between several groups of people in Lower Bidwell Park in Chico early Friday morning that ended with one man getting stabbed.
It happened around 2:15 A.M. near Sycamore Pool. Police say the suspect group consisted of two to four people.

One group walked up to contact another group. They then left and went to join a third group.
That's when the first group came back to the other groups and a fight broke out.

Police say one man was punched in the face and a knife was taken out, which stabbed the victim.
The 30-year-old man is currently in surgery and we do not know his condition at this time.

He suffers from eight stab wounds to his left side.
Neither of the suspects have been caught.

They are described as white males in their twenties, both with shaven heads.
They are believed to have fled the scene in a rust orange four-door compact car.

Police say that this incident does not appear to be gang related.
