LOS ANGELES (AP) - A Lake Forest man who says he is one of the original members of the exclusive Club 33 at Disneyland is suing the theme park, claiming his annual membership was unfairly terminated.
The Los Angeles Times reports that 84-year-old Joseph Cosgrove filed the lawsuit Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court. He says Disneyland ended his membership after a friend auctioned charity passes that he provided. Club 33's rules forbid members from auctioning passes.
In the suit, Cosgrove says he didn't realize his friend had auctioned the passes. The lawsuit asks the court to force Disneyland to pay Cosgrove at least $100,000 for mental anguish, legal fees and punitive damages, among other considerations.
Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown says this was not Cosgrove's first offense and that they had repeatedly transferred and sold membership privileges.
