Man stabbed outside Redding car wash

A Redding man is recovering after he was stabbed by a woman outside a local car wash Saturday night.

Police were called to the area of Westwood Avenue and Westside Road around 8:30 p.m., and found 49-year-old Michael Peacock on the scene suffering from a stab wound.

Peacock told police he and a woman were drinking in the parking lot of a nearby carwash when she stabbed him for an unknown reason.

Peacock was taken to Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers found 29-year-old Chelsea Rocha nearby. She was booked into the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
