Man stabbed in front of Chico mobile home park

Police are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed another man Friday afternoon in Chico.

Officers responded to an emergency call near the 1400 block of Nord Avenue where they found an unidentified 24-year-old man suffering from a single stab wound to the torso.

The victim said he was approached while standing outside of his mobile home. The suspect then stabbed the victim and fled the scene, possibly on a bicycle. The victim said he did not know the suspect and believes he was stabbed for no reason.

Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect or the weapon. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, wearing a black hat, black sweater and possibly riding a bicycle.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. Medical staff said he is expected to survive.
