Man shot during Butte County drug robbery

Authorities say a drug robbery in Honcut ended in gunfire Saturday night, and the robbers remain at large.

The shooting happened at a home on Homer Lane around 10:30 p.m., according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived a short time later and found shell casings and blood, along with evidence that a drug robbery had occurred, however nobody was in the area.

The next day a man walked into a local hospital with two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the leg and admitted he had been the victim of the drug robbery in Honcut. He told deputies that in addition to marijuana, the robbers had stolen a Silver Nissan Titan.

Authorities say no arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 530-538-7671.
