Two men are behind bars in Yuba County in connection with a deadly shooting that sheriff's officials blame on a marijuana deal gone bad.
It happened just after 5 p.m. Sunday evening, on the 1500 block of Calistoga Way in Olivehurst .
Investigators say that 22 year old Daniel Peters and 44 year old Randall Orway of Olivehurst arranged to sell marijuana to 28 year old Kenneth Smith, Jr. of Citrus Heights ... and that the arrangement was made over a social media web site.
But the transaction somehow went awry and deputies say gunfire was exchanged between Peters and Smith.
Smith was struck by the gunfire and died at the scene.
Peters and Orway were booked for Sales of Marijuana and Manufacturing Honey Oil.
Sheriff's officials say they could face additional charges when investigators are finished processing the scene and autopsy results come back.
Meanwhile, deputies are searching for a white male driving gold colored Hyundai that was spotted fleeing the scene.
