Man seriously injured in fire, flown to U.C. Davis Burn Center

Cal Fire Officials say an elderly man was seriously injured and his Paradise home was destroyed after a fire broke out early Monday morning.

The fire was reported shortly after 12:45 a.m. on the 6000 block of Woodland Drive. When fire crews arrived the home was fully involved.

Crews stopped the spread of the fire before it spread to adjacent vegetation, and an elderly man, who was the only person home suffered serious injuries and was air lifted to the U.C. Davis burn center.

According to a press release from Cal Fire about $600,000 worth of property was damaged.
