Man previously convicted of child molestation violates parole

A Red Bluff man is in jail for violating parole, after previous convictions for annoy or molest a child under 18 years old and continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Friday morning, Freddie Latham, 83, approached a 12 year old girl on Kimball Road while she was walking to Vista School, and grabbed her hand.

After a few seconds, the victim saw a school bus drive by and yanked her hand away. She was left unharmed.

Latham then headed toward a nearby field, where he was found Officers and arrested for violations of his parole. He is being held at Tehama County Jail without bail and is required to register as a sex offender.
