Man poses as mail carrier, steals business' mail

An unknown man allegedly donned a U.S. Postal worker uniform and stole mail from several locations throughout Chico, the Chico Police reported Thursday.

Police reported the suspected entered a local business and collected the outgoing mail, telling the receptionist that there was no incoming mail.

The receptionist said they found this odd as they did not recognize the carrier and were accustomed to receiving mail every day. When the usual carrier arrived later that afternoon, the receptionist called police.

The suepect is described as 50-60-year-old white male, 5-feet-10-inches tall approximately 190 pounds and wearing a postal uniform.

Chico Police said it is very possible other businesses in the area were also targeted.
