Man Killed in Pedestrian vs Vehicle Accident in Gridley

(UPDATE) 9:01 a.m.- Colusa Highway is now back open after a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian accident this morning.

UPDATE: Authorities have confirmed the man killed is Ralph Lozada, 40, of Gridley. The driver of the vehicle was traveling west on Colusa Hwy, near Lewis Oak Road in Gridley, when he saw a car off to the side of the road. The driver reportedly failed to notice Lozada lying in the road and ran him over. CHP believes Lozada was driving the car found on the side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

(7:13) The CHP website is reporting a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian accident at 702 Colusa Highway in Gridley.
It happened just before 6:40 Tuesday morning. According to Cal Fire, the roadway is blocked.
