Man injured in industrial accident in Chico

The Chico Fire Department responded to an industrial accident late this afternoon. The report came in that a construction worker was trapped under a steel beam. Fire figthers and paramedics arrived to discover a 52-year old man wasn't trapped, but had been hit by an aluminum beam, while unloading a truck.

This accident happened at the Eaton Village Apartments, near the corner of Eaton Road and Penzance Avenue. The beams were being off loaded, for the construction of parking garages at the development.

First responders said, the victim suffered what they termed as mild to moderate head injury. He was taken to the hospital for treatment by ambulance. His condition is unknown.
